Today was supposed to be an easy sewing day. Just put the skirt on the pink and green dress! So, on the piemontaise what I thought was the left sleeve turned out to be the right sleeve and I wondered if I had been reversing sleeves since, well, forever. I always do adjusting in the armscye, so I thought I was making up for it ( Read more... )

I get to wear the redingote and piemontaise. Expect pictures soon :)

The fichu handkerchief whatever you want to call it is hemmed. I think I'm done?

I hope, because if I'm not, I'm skipping something by accident!

Unless I'm forgetting something, except for hemming a triangle o' gauze for the redingote neckline, I'm done sewing! Hooray!

In other news, hair is a mystery :)

I may have overdone it, finishing the dress after open house, but it feels so good to be essentially done. I napped for two hours today and am kind of wiped out :)

I'm not trying the redingote on to check button placement today though!

Still, I'll work on that trim hemming for the piemontaise. Uh, soon. Tonight.

The redingote? As good as done.

The only thing left is to sew the three decorative buttons down, and I want to try it on before I do that. The other thing that I might do, but probably not, is a white ruffly cuff. I could finish the redingote tonight, but it's open house!

Sleeves are about half done, and it just needs those set, a hem, and false buttons. I also noticed that two of my inspiration dresses just have a contrasting fabric at the wrist for cuffs, so no real cuffs will be made. Much quicker!

Then, back to piemontaise skirt trim :)
